The holidays are a source of countless stressors for many people, and for good reason. Family, politics, money, weather, the end of one year, the beginning of another, the list goes on. 

Fortunately, we here at Danodan have created a list of concoctions to keep you merry and bright all season long! Along with being very seasonally-appropriate, this selection of beverages will help your body and mind address the stress of the holidays. Also, they are fantastic conversation-starters for friends and family who may be interested in hemp-derived CBD.

Matcha Doin’?

1 tsp matcha powder
1 tbsp hot water
2 mL Danodan Hemp Flower CBD Shot
8 oz milk of choice

1. In a mug, combine matcha, hot water, and Danodan shot; whisk gently to combine.
2. Heat milk in a small pan over medium heat, whisking regularly to avoid burning. Once hot, whisk vigorously for 15 seconds to create a light froth, if desired.
3. Add milk to mug, and serve immediately. Can be sweetened with a tablespoon of maple syrup, if desired.

Matcha is a type of powdered green tea that is earthy, grassy, and very delicious. It is also packed with antioxidants, protects the liver and heart, and contains more beneficial compounds than regular green tea. When paired with our hemp flower infusion, this drink will help you energize, focus, and tackle what lies ahead. Ideal in the morning or as an afternoon pick-me-up!

Herbamint Steamer

8 oz milk of choice
⅛ tsp peppermint extract
1 tsp honey
2 mL Danodan Hemp Flower CBD Shot

1. Heat milk in a small pan over medium heat, whisking regularly to avoid burning. 
2. Once hot, add remaining ingredients and vigorously whisk for 15 seconds to create a light froth.
3. Serve immediately.

I love peppermint steamers, but using conventional peppermint syrup adds way too much sugar for me. Here we use a potent peppermint extract with just a little honey, and our herbaceous hemp flower shot to compliment the mint. This drink may also help promote digestion, ease nausea, and relieve anxiety. It definitely will make you release a sigh of relief and crack a smile.

Hot Hempy

8 oz boiling water
½ inch fresh ginger, peeled and sliced thin
1 star anise
2 whole cloves
1½ oz whiskey, brandy, or rum
1 tbsp. honey
½ oz lemon juice (about ¼ lemon)
2 mL Danodan Hemp Flower CBD Shot
Lemon wedge and cinnamon stick, for garnish

1. Place water, ginger, and anise in mug. Cover and let steep for 3-5 minutes.
2. Add liquor, honey, lemon juice, and Danodan. Stir to combine.
3. Garnish with a lemon wedge and cinnamon stick, and serve.

This variation on the classic Hot Toddy adds ginger to help soothe the stomach and promote digestion, anise and clove for a little warming spice, and Danodan to help reduce stress and anxiety.

Not feeling the alcohol? No worries, this beverage is also delicious non-alcoholic!

Mint Condition

2 oz dry gin
2 mL Danodan Hemp Flower CBD Shot
¾ oz fresh lime juice
½ oz simple syrup
8 fresh mint leaves

1. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker or jar with ice. Shake well.
2. Strain and serve over fresh fresh ice in a tumbler glass. Garnish with mint and lime.

I love gin, and the spruce character of a good dry gin goes beautifully with our hemp flower shot in this twist on the classic Richmond Gimlet. Mint and lime help to compliment the herbaceous notes, and make this a refreshing and soothing beverage after a heavy holiday meal. 

If you would like a no-proof version, consider removing the gin and subbing in your favorite lime-flavored bubbly water. You could also add a few dashes of aromatic bitters for a nice zip!
