It’s spoooooky season! There are so many wonder-fall recipe ideas that we love (see what we did there?), but this scary shrunken head cider is definitely our new favourite.
With only 3 main ingredients, this makes for a great activity to enjoy with friends or family. We used a store-bought cider for this iteration, but if you have your own hot cider recipe we highly encourage you to make your own!
All you need is:
- 5-8 large apples (we used Honey Crisp, but your own local organic varieties will work great too)
- Warm apple cider (we used this spiced cider mix, but this link here is a great recipe option if you plan on making your own!)
- Danodan Calm Tincture
- Cinnamon sticks & whole cloves (optional, adds extra spice elements and looks pretty in a punch bowl!)
- Carving tools, such as a pairing knife or melon baller
Method:
- Preheat oven to 250F
- Peel apples, then slice in half and carefully remove seeds and core
- Carve faces into the rounded sides of the apple halves (get creative!)
